ATL HOA & Condo Property Maintenance Group announces John Bares, CRS, DCA, has joined us. He has over 40 years' experience in various disciplines of general & specialty work: above & below-grade waterproofing, concrete/asphalt pavement repairs, drainage & retaining walls, roofing & wall repairs, & structure stabilization.
When active in northeastern construction, he served Structural, Brisk, Turner, D'Annunzio, Mt. Hope Paving & Rock Products, S J Groves & Sons, Lane, & Black River Constructors - a joint-venture constructor of U S Army at Fort Drum, home of the 10th Mountain Division - Infantry - upstate New York - the site of USA's 1st roller compacted concrete aircraft aprons, taxiways, & runways. In 1993's World Trade Center attack, he was the 1st concrete removal specialist called along with Holes, Inc - prime concrete sawing specialists for Karl Koch (steel erectors for WTC & many other NYC showcase projects). He worked on Trump Properties (Plaza- Towers-Casino), Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art, Guggenheim, Staten Island's Outerbridge Crossing, Tappan Zee, & George Washington Bridges, Pike School in Morristown, NJ, Rockefeller family estates, & various NYC/CT/NJ hi-rise & condo/parking structures,.
He has worked with state DOT's in PA, GA, SC, DE, FL, NY, NJ, CT, MA, Port Authority of NY & NJ, VA, WV, NYC DOT. Federal agencies include: Corps of Engineers, Army, Navy, & Air Force. Project sites include Rome AFB, Lackland AFB, Plattsburg AFB (Strategic Air Command), Niagara Falls Intl Airport, Willow Grove NAS, Key West NAS, Navy's Milton Field ( FL ), Pennsylvania Turnpike, & NYS Thruway Authority. He was the lead pavement specialist for Newark Airport's Terminal B Aircraft Parking apron - 27acres of 18" concrete pavement.
Prior to arriving in Atlanta, he was a principal in NJ's Atlantis Waterproofing for 5 years & helped lead Atlantis to #1 for interior/exterior basement waterproofing + mold/mildew/radon remediation/evacuation in NJ. Southeastern USA projects include US Rte 85 (Anderson, SC), US Rte 20 (Thomson-Augusta), & Augusta's Fort Gordon. In the Atlanta metropolitan area, he worked on Hartsfield Intl AP, 285,85, & 75 as well as several bridges over the downtown connector.
John is a Sr. Member, Intl. Concrete Repair Institute, Natl. Assoc. of Structural Repair & Waterproofing Contractors, & American Concrete Institute. He still consults to decorative concrete overlay artisans, pavement repair contractors, structural repair technicians, & seamless epoxy flooring specialists. He has specialized in HOA/Condo property/facility maintenance/repair/building envelope work for the past 10 years. He's married & lives in E.
